About The Author

John M. Hamilton was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, and grew up in the small town of Millbury. An avid hunter and fisherman from a young age, John has spent his life cultivating a love for the outdoors. After a brief stint at St. Benedicts College, he joined the United States Air Force, where he trained as an Air Traffic Controller and pursued his education. Stationed at Loring Air Force Base in Maine, he flourished as an outdoorsman, earning a Master Maine Guide license and taking his first steps toward a lifelong passion for wilderness exploration.

His Air Force career took him to the United Kingdom, where he worked in air traffic control and participated in classified missions. During this time, he earned multiple degrees from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, including a Master of Business Administration in Aviation, while teaching as an adjunct professor and obtaining his private pilot’s license.

In 1990, John left the Air Force to embark on a business venture, earning a global patent for an in-vessel composting reactor he invented. He later shifted to software development for the State of Maine and continued exploring diverse careers, including federal law enforcement training, commercial fishing on Cape Cod, and eventually becoming an Immigrations Officer.

John retired in 2021, pursued investigative work until 2024, and now enjoys a well-deserved retirement dedicated to writing, golf, and his lifelong love of hunting and fishing.
